Tech Valley Technologies (TVT) is introducing its advanced Urban Target System (UTS) technology. As the need for more realistic training practices becomes necessary, TVT responds with the sophisticated incorporation of the real-time stress of an enemy response to fire, ultimately preparing our soldiers for actual warfare scenarios. The UTS target system is a programmable contact-based target scoring system that electronically provides the location of hit on a target when using non-lethal munitions such as Simunition FX, airsoft and paintball. UTS also features the following:
Ability to program target behavior commensurate with engagement results.
Drop-down menus with multiple pre-programmed kill zones allow for easy programming of individual targets.
Shoot-back device fires rubber bullets if required engagement parameter is not met.
Set level of target difficulty to meet level of training – crawl, walk or run.
Initially created in July of 2009, UTS is a proven method of training that most accurately depicts the settings that soldiers need to properly prepare for enemy combat. The technology also equips users with an After Action Review, which displays all targets in order of hit, allowing shooters, units and squads to track progress in shooting proficiency over time. Users can also change photorealistic image overlays from enemy to civilian or terrorist to domestic threat, allowing a wide range of persona for trainees to choose from, including friend, foe, insurgent, woman and child. These systems are simple to set-up, use and change for different training scenarios and can be integrated into previously existing training targets. It operates via WiFi or Ethernet and can run off either a 12-volt DC battery or 120-volt AC battery, making UTS the most practical option for close quarter training (CQT) practices.
